Mondays...

First off, I wanted to let everyone know that Mom is doing MUCH better! They are taking good care of her in the hospital, and she is starting to finally sound like her old self again. She's having a port put in today and is a little nervous, but everything is moving along nicely! she even took in a whole milk shake last night for dinner!

Second...Mondays STINK! I had a really good week last week with work and taking Ty to daycare. Friday couldn't go by fast enough for me to go get him though, and we all had a wonderful weekend! He is just such a sweet boy and smiled and cooed with me and his Daddy all weekend! Thus, today when I had to take him to daycare, I had a very rough time! It was like last Monday all over again...lots of tears...before I even got out of the building. Of course, it didn't help that my fvorite daycare worker is on vacation this week so there was a new woman in there with them that I didn't know...

Note to self: plan my vacations when Yvonne takes vacation!

Anyway...Mondays stink, but I know each day will get better and better, just like last week. For now, I'll see my little boy in just a little bit to feed him again...THANK GOODNESS!

This Week...

I wanted to thank everyone for the prayers and kind words and emails with my return to work this week. I have to say - they worked! It has honestly been a very good week! I cried myself silly on Monday, being Ty's first day at daycare! However, each day has gotten easier! We have our special time every morning and every night, and we play and smile. I even get to see him at lunch time most days since I am still breast feeding! (I may have to take a new job to be able to stop breast feeding...formula is EXPENSIVE!!! HA!)

He has stuck to his schedule at daycare, naps well there and is sleeping like a champ at night with us. His gas seems to be getting better each day! And while he really seems to like the women at daycare, we can tell he LOVES his special mommy and daddy time at night. Last night Tyler had him because mommy had to work a little late, and they sang songs the whole time (which we continued once mommy got home.)

So, I am honestly doing well with the transition and am enjoying being back at work again...not quite sure how I will get to work out ever again...but hey! one thing at a time!

On another note...My mom has had a rough week, and is back in the hospital. They think she has an infection and she is dealing with a lot of pain from that and her recent surgery. Please help us pray that the doctors help her to feel better VERY soon! Ty would really like to see his Honey soon!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...and I will update everyone on mom's status as soon as I know more!

THANK YOU!!!

I got a lot of great advice from the blog and from friends at work that I consulted on my baby's gassy tummy! Last night, I was so desperate, I tried it all!!!

I already used gripe water, and I do believe it has made our lives much better than it was without it. I put it in his evening bottle. I made sure he had lots of time on his mat on the floor before his last bottle to work out any bubbles that were in his tummy AND I pushed his legs into his tummy to try to "pump" any gas bubbles out. Then, I gave him a Mylicon BEFORE his last bottle (THANKS EMILY!), pumped his legs some more and gave Mylicon again right before he went to bed!

He slept from 8:45 last night till I woke him at 7:30 this morning - HALLELUJIA! Thanks for all the help! What would mom's do without advice from friends!!!

Mommy Help Please...

Mommies PLEASE help!

My little boy has always been a great sleeper...but here lately, when he is going down to sleep at night, he sleeps for about an hour and wakes up fussy...then again an hour later, then again an hour after that. It never takes me very long to calm him...and I'm pretty sure it is gas...as this has been an ongoing problem for us. I'll pick him up and a little burp will come out or a poot. If anyone has any pearls of wisdom, I'd LOVE to hear them!

We use mylicon after his dinner...anything else??? Tired, working mommy needs ideas! :-)

My Poor Little Boy...

For all the future moms, I feel I need to warn you all. I was given some warning but was in no way prepared for my little boy's 2 month checkup (and the 5, yes 5, shots he had to get). I've been very emotional all week anyway, but when he was going to the doctor, I was a basketcase! I was so worked up and just kept trying to tell myself it would all be alright.

We made it through it with a few tears, from him and from me. However, what happened that night was MUCH worse. I was warned he could run a temp, and sure enough...about 5:00, he came down with a 100.9 temp. Mommy was NOT happy! He whimpered all night and made the most pitiful sounds one could imagine coming from a little baby. The temp finally went down to a 99, and I tried to put him down in his crib to sleep. But he was so restless he couldn't sleep. And I was just petrified his temp would go higher so...I yanked him up and put him in the bed next to me. Needless to say, I slept very little but at least I could keep a watch over him all night. At 2am, he got super hot again and I had to give him more tylenol and try to calm him again...he finally fell asleep and the temp broke in the night! THANK GOODNESS!

I cannot believe I have to do this every couple of months...I have seriously never been so nervous in my entire life! I just don't know how to explain it...but there is a new level of panic that I have never known in my life when my child is sick and running a fever!

p.s. On the bright side, my return to work has honestly been very nice this week! I am quite confident it is because a number of wonderful friends have been praying very hard for me, and because my WONDERFUL mother-in-law has been keeping my little man! Check with me next week when I have to leave him at daycare, and we'll see if I am still this calm :-)

Kind of Emotional...

I have had a couple of very emotional days...I'm starting back to work tomorrow so everyone say a prayer for me :-). This week really shouldn't be too bad! I'm only going back for half a week and Oma is coming to keep the little man so that will definitely make the transition much easier. Next week, he will start at daycare, which will be much harder on me...but I am praying to make it through it and to be able to have wisdom and learn from the entire process about what is best for our little family.

Anyway, I have wanted to add this song to my playlist for the blog but haven't been able to find it. SO...today, wanting to hear it again myself, I found it on Utube and decided to post it this way instead. I first heard this song when I was a few months pregnant...needless to say, I cried myself silly...and I cried again today. But hey, everyone needs a good cry now and again, right?

Please continue to keep mom in your thoughts and prayers. She is up and walking but they still haven't started her on liquids or gotten the stupid tube out of her throat so she is feeling pretty miserable. Thank you to everyone for their visits, prayers and words of love to her through this!

Best Mothers Day Ever!

My little boy and husband made this the best day EVER! We got up this morning and they gave me my presents. "The Blind Side" and a beautiful frame they had made for me that says "To the first woman to make me smile" and it has a beautiful picture of Ty in it :-). How special was that!!! I cried :-)...

THEN, as I thought the day couldn't get any better, Ty laughed at me for the first time (thanks to my Aunt Ronnie who had some advice on the matter :-). And you guessed it, I cried again!

Then, the three of us went to Washington Park for a free concert here in Macon. It was a beautiful day and we had a ton of fun! Ty was an absolute angel...we had such a special day. It was truly a day I will remember the rest of my life!

What A Day...

WOW! What a day! Traveling with my little boy is always easy the day of, but I always pay big time at night. I was up with him at 2:30...couldn't fall back asleep as my mind wouldn't shut off. He woke back up at 4am, I fed him and got back in bed myself at 5 and slept on and off till 7...yep, pretty tired today!

I hope tonight will be better!

Mom is doing well today. She had a worse night than me for sure...they have changed her pain meds to help keep her more comfortable now though. She has gotten up and sat in the chair for a solid hour, per doctors orders. YAY! Tomorrow she will be up and walking.

I will keep everyone posted on her progress...and again, thank you all for the prayers!

Mom's out of surgery

Mom's surgery went well! Thank God! She is such a fighter!

She had a part of her bowel removed and part of the tumor, and she should be able to eat again and gain weight. Now, we just have to pray that the chemo kicks in and takes care of the rest!

I love you all and cannot thank you enough for the prayers! As always, they have made such a difference!

More Prayers Needed...

I wanted to give everyone an update on mom. She is back in the hospital, and they are doing surgery on Wednesday afternoon. Please say some prayers. She is very nervous as this is her third surgery on her bowels in under a year. I really feel that God is going to bring her through this one as He has in the past, but it is still scary because we know that her body can only take so many of these types of major surgeries.

She is one tough cookie though, and she always proves the doctors wrong!

Please pray that the surgery is successful, that they remove the tumors and that she doesn't have any complications. Also pray for her to stay positive and for her faith to stay strong. It is always a struggle when she has been in and out of the hospital so much lately and has just had a rough time of it in general lately.

Ty and I will be making the trip to Greenville again early Weds morning, and I will try to keep everyone posted on what is happening via the blog. Love you all and thanks so much for the prayers!

p.s. On a brighter note, my little boy turned two months old today...isn't God good!
