9 Weeks Pregnant - Last Week of July...
No one could ever quite grasp how difficult it is having the biggest secret in the world…or at least in your own “little world” and not being able to tell anyone about it. Unless of course, you too have been pregnant and tried to wait the 12 weeks before telling everyone. Talking to your best friends in the whole wide world as if nothing is different…pretending not to be MISERABLY sick when all you want to do is complain…and not being able to explain to anyone why you’ve been forced to go to bed for the past few weeks at 8pm because you just cannot hold your eyes open for one more second! This has felt like the longest, most amazing, 12 weeks of my entire life!
Luckily I got to tell my parents at 8 weeks…we knew we had to tell them as we were afraid they would figure it out anyway. It was a blast and the reactions were varied, but all were equally excited to be grandparents!
Ty went with me to the 8 week appointment…I don’t know that I have ever been so worked up about a doctors appointment. I just wanted to know everything was ok, and it was. I have included the first picture below…

The baby is the peanut shaped blob to the right...not too impressive just yet, but there and with an awesome heart beat!
Bless Ty’s heart…he had to be in the room while I had a FULL OBGYN visit…poor thing was in shock I think J. No matter what, I have to say, this was a growing experience. Neither of us could confide in anyone else so for weeks we just itched to talk to one another…but we still may have to reevaluate this whole 12 weeks thing in the future!

ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you and Tyler...Josh said it was so neat to see Tyler playing with our little boy on the ride home from the beach! You'll be wonderful parents and I agree with Merritt that it does take a lot of will power to keep such an exciting secret!!
