December 2010
Hello friends.
I may not have met everyone yet, so I snuck out of my bed to write you from Mommy's black box. You'd think Mommy and Daddy would put bars on the top of the bed if they wanted to keep me from getting out. Just goes to show you, age doesn't mean intelligence.
But I'm plenty smart. If you don't believe me, just ask Daddy. He says I am so smart that he's reserved a spot in the M.I.T. freshman class of 2018. Mommy told him "to stop sending my child away." I don't want to leave my Mommy, so I think I'll pass on this M.I.T. place—sorry Daddy.
I've learned a lot over the past 9 months and I'd like to impart some of the wisdom that only comes with age.
1. An easy life isn't necessarily the best. I was happy in my cramped, wet room before Mommy pushed me down the long dark hallway. Although I was bitter about it at first (and I let Mommy and Daddy know about it!), I'm happier now because the food is better and I get to play with my dolphin and other toys.
2. Mommy is the boss. Daddy says she's a big time boss lady in her new job. I don't know about that, but I don't want to cross her.
3. Daddy is a lot more fun when he gets to sleep. He was always yawning, until we moved to the new house. I'm glad Daddy doesn't have to make up so early now.
4. Stay on top of your health, or else you'll end up with someone sticking weird tubes in your ears. Not fun, even if it did make my ears stop hurting!
5. Crawling is for suckers. I'm just going to work on walking. That's the civilized way to go. Why would I want to get my hands dirty on the floor?
6. Nobody loves you like a big sister, especially when she is furry, has four legs and licks you in the face. I love you Lady.
You won't believe what happened a couple of weeks ago. Mommy and Daddy brought a big tree into the house. It's awesome! It's like I'm outside, but it's not cold. The tree branches are prickly and don't feel good on my fingers, but there are all sorts of cool things hanging from them. There's one that even makes a ringing noise when I smack it.
Daddy says he thinks I will grow up to design ceiling fans. While I do find them fascinating, they aren't nearly as cool as what Daddy put on our front porch. There are lights of all sorts of colors and even an air-filled "snowman". Daddy said we probably wouldn't be able to make our own "snowman" since we live in Georgia. But that's OK. I like the one we have.
Mommy says she and Daddy are going to have trouble keeping Oma, Big Daddy, Honey and Papa from going overboard for Christmas. I don't want them to drown, so I hope they don't. I know how scary water can be. I've been to the ocean!
We thank God every night for all of the blessings He has given us this year! I hope you and your family have been blessed too!
And I hope Santa Claus visits you this year too. Mommy and Daddy already promised that he'd bring me lots of new toys because I've been such a good boy! Merry Christmas!
Much Love,
Ty (as well as Tyler and Lindsi) Pearson
